Sample deliverable

We write decisions down.

Every load-bearing decision goes into a written doc — the context, the options considered, why we chose what we chose, and what risks we accepted. Future-you can read it. Future-us can read it. Future-them can read it.

# Decision: Migrate from Magento to Plus

**Date:** 2025-09-12
**Owner:** Klaver Studio + Maison Rouge ops
**Status:** Approved

## Context
Magento 2 → Plus migration. Q4 cutover window agreed.

## Options considered
1. Lift-and-shift theme as-is, replatform first
2. Rebuild theme on OS 2.0 in parallel with replatform
3. Headless on Hydrogen during migration

## Decision
Option 2 — rebuild on OS 2.0 in parallel.

## Rationale
- Keeps cutover window tight (single weekend in November)
- Avoids two cutovers (replatform now + theme rebuild later)
- Hydrogen wasn't justified by current merchandising needs

## Risks accepted
- Theme team must hit milestones to keep cutover date
- Two-stack parallel run window must hold for 14 days
